The Power of Praise & Worship

“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.” – 2 Chronicles 20:22 (NKJV)

In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah faced a terrifying situation — a massive army was coming against them. Outnumbered and overwhelmed, they sought the Lord, and God gave them a remarkable strategy: praise.

As they marched into battle, they didn’t lead with swords or shields but with singers praising the beauty of God’s holiness. As soon as they began to sing and praise, the Lord moved powerfully. Confusion struck their enemies, and they turned on one another until not a single one remained.

Praise isn’t just a reaction to victory; it’s a weapon in the midst of the fight. When we lift our voices in worship, we acknowledge God’s sovereignty and shift our focus from the size of our problem to the greatness of our God. Praise invites God’s presence into our circumstances and aligns our hearts with His power and purposes.

Psalm 22:3 reminds us that God inhabits the praises of His people. When we praise, we’re creating a space for His divine intervention. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas sang hymns while imprisoned, and their praise led to a miraculous earthquake that set them free.

Whatever battle you’re facing today, remember the power of praise. It may not change your circumstances instantly, but it will change your heart, strengthen your faith, and invite God’s power to work on your behalf. Trust that as you praise, God is fighting for you.

Blessings!
