Hope in the Battle: God’s Hand is Still on You.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
— Psalm 34:17-18 (NKJV)
If you’re reading this today and you’re in a fight—a real fight—you’re not alone. Whether it’s the grip of addiction, the haunting shame of past failures, or the crushing weight of despair, I want you to hear this loud and clear:
God is not finished with you!
Yes, even in your brokenness.
Yes, even in the relapse.
Yes, even when you’re too ashamed to pray.
We often think that our struggles disqualify us from God’s love. But the truth is, our struggles are the very reason Jesus came. He didn’t come for the perfect; He came for the hurting. For the addicted. For the weary. For you. Yes, YOU.
In Luke 5:31-32 (NKJV), Jesus said:
“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
That means your pain is not a barrier to God’s presence—it’s an invitation.
Let me ask you:
- Are you tired of the cycle?
- Do you feel like no one understands?
- Have you cried yourself to sleep, wondering if God could still love someone like you?
He does. And He’s right there in the room with you.
Even if you can’t feel Him.
Even if your mind is clouded and your heart is numb.
Even if you’ve failed a thousand times.
You may be struggling, but you’re still standing. That means there’s still a fight in you—and more importantly, there’s still grace available to you.
The apostle Paul had something he called a “thorn in the flesh.” He begged God three times to take it away. But God responded in a way that might speak directly to you today:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)
You may feel weak, but God is strong in you.
You may feel empty, but He is your fullness.
You may have lost control, but He has not lost control of your life.
Right now, wherever you are—be it a rehab center, your bedroom, a jail cell, or just a lonely place in your heart—say this with me:
“God, I’m tired. I’ve tried so hard, and I keep falling. But I believe You love me. I believe You have not given up on me. Be my strength today. Help me fight again tomorrow. And even if I fall, help me to fall into Your grace.”
LET ME BE CLEAR…
If you’re still breathing, God still has a purpose for you.
If your heart is beating, hope is not dead.
You are not your addiction.
You are not your failure.
You are not your past.
You are loved. You are seen. You are worth fighting for.
…And you are NOT alone.
Stay the course. Keep praying. Keep reaching.
…Victory doesn’t always come in a moment, but it comes when you don’t quit.
Let today be the day you believe again!!
