Where Did it Fall?

“So the man of God said, ‘Where did it fall?’ And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.”
— 2 Kings 6:6 (NKJV)

Have you ever felt like you lost something in the middle of doing the right thing?

Maybe it was your joy, your peace, your fire for God, or just your ability to keep going…

In 2 Kings 6, a young prophet was working hard — chopping wood for a growing ministry — when suddenly his axe head flew off and sank into the river. In a sense, he lost his edge…

What made it worse? It wasn’t even his… it was borrowed.

He didn’t lose it being reckless.
He lost it while doing something for God…

And maybe that’s where you are.

You’re still showing up.
You’re still working.

But deep down… you know you’ve lost your edge.

You’re swinging a handle, but the blade is gone… The effectiveness is missing. The fire just isn’t there.

Here’s the good news: God still knows where it fell.

And when the prophet cried out in desperation, the man of God didn’t shame him… he simply asked, “Where did it fall?”

That’s your question today:
Where did it fall?
Where did you lose your focus, your passion, your confidence, your spiritual edge?

When the young man pointed to the place, Elisha threw in a stick, and the axe head floated.

What should’ve stayed buried, rose.
What should’ve stayed lost, was recovered.

That’s what God does.
He meets you at the place of your loss and restores what you thought was gone forever.

Blessings!

Prayer:
Lord, I admit there are some things I’ve lost along the way. Maybe I didn’t even notice it at first, but now I feel it. I’ve lost my edge. I need You to show up like You did at the Jordan River. Take me back to where I lost it and do what only You can do. Restore what I thought was gone. I trust You to make it float again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
