“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10 (NKJV)
In a world that never slows down, where our phones buzz before our eyes open and stress greets us like an old friend, God offers us a powerful invitation: Be still.
Not “be lazy.”
Not “be silent.”
Not “be numb.”
But be still…. to quiet the soul, still the striving, and fix our gaze on the One who holds it all together.
Psalm 46 paints the picture of chaos: nations raging, kingdoms tottering, mountains quaking. And right in the middle of the shaking, God says, “Be still and know that I am God.”
Why stillness? Because in stillness, we discover that God doesn’t need our hustle to be faithful. He is already working, already moving, already making a way, even when we can’t see it. Sometimes, the breakthrough isn’t in doing more, but in trusting deeper.
When you’re overwhelmed—be still.
When the doors won’t open—be still.
When your prayers feel unanswered—be still.
When the enemy is shouting lies—be still.
When your heart is racing with worry—be still…
…and know.
Know what?
That He is God.
That He is in control.
That He has never failed you, and He’s not about to start now.
